Before you print
Printing them well.
Every page is sized for A4 at roughly 200 dpi, so the lines stay crisp even when a printer scales them a little.
Paper size
A4, portrait. If your printer asks, choose Fit to page rather than Actual size.
Colour settings
Print in black and white or greyscale — it is line art, so there is no colour to lose.
Paper weight
Ordinary 80 gsm copy paper is fine for pencils. For felt pens or paint, 120–160 gsm stops the bleed.
Classroom sets
Download all ten and print them as one job — they are numbered, so the story stays in order.

What the pages teach.
The drawings are simple on purpose. The ideas underneath them are the same ones we work with on the farm every day.
Waste is a resource
Food scraps and garden trimmings are raw material, not rubbish — the starting point of every batch of compost we make.
Compost is alive
Worms, microbes, air and moisture all have a job. Pages 3 to 6 give each of them a face.
Soil holds water
In the UAE that is the whole game. Mulch and compost are how a bed survives a summer afternoon.
The loop closes
What grows in the bed goes back to the bin. Children get that idea faster than most adults do.
